Flex Plate: Service and Repair

Removal 

1. Remove the transaxle. 

2. Remove the flywheel.

Mark the location of the flywheel and crankshaft flange.

Remove the bolts and the flywheel.

3

Remove the engine rear backing plate.

Installation 

1. NOTE:  Use a suitable strap wrench to hold the crankshaft by the vibration damper.

Install the flywheel.

Install the engine rear backing plate.

Install the flywheel and tighten the bolts working diagonally.

2. Install the transaxle.
