Radius Arm: Service and Repair

1. Raise vehicle on frame contact hoist, then position suitable jack under lower control arm and raise arm to normal curb height.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly, then tension strut-to-lower control arm attaching nut and bolt.
3. Remove tension strut-to-body bracket attaching nut and bolt, then the tension strut.
4. Insert front end of replacement torsion strut in body bracket, then install new attaching nut and bolt. Do not tighten at this time.
5. Position rear end of torsion strut in lower control arm, then install new attaching nut and bolt. Torque to 40-55 ft lb.
6. Torque torsion strut-to-body bracket attaching nut and bolt to 40-55 ft lb.
7. Install wheel and tire assembly, then remove jack and lower vehicle.
