Parking Lamp: Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Inspection and Verification (Start Testing Here)

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the parking lamps to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART 

Electrical 
-

Circuitry open/shorted.

-

Power distribution box Fuse 20 (15 A).

-

Fuse junction panel Fuse 31 (5 A).

-

Damaged connector.

-

Miniature miniature bulb burned out.

-

Damaged headlamp switch.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart.  See: With Lamp Out Control

Use Rotunda Digital Volt-Ohmmeter 014-00407 or equivalent to perform pinpoint tests.
