Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

1.

 Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

 Remove master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder, Replace for procedure.

3.

 Disconnect booster vacuum hose from check valve.

4.

 Remove stop lamp switch. Refer to Stop Light Switch, Replace in ``Electrical Section'' for procedure.

5.

 Remove brake booster-to-dash panel attaching nuts, then slide booster pushrod and pushrod bushing off brake pedal pin.

6.

 Remove vacuum tee attaching bolts, then position tee aside.

7.

 Position wiring harness aside.

8.

 Remove transmission shift cable and bracket.

9.

 Move booster assembly forwards until it clears dash panel, then remove booster.

10.

 Reverse procedure to install.
