ISSUE:

The Keyless Entry System, Autolock Feature, will have a new designed keyless entry processor after January 20, 1988. The new processor
will allow the customer to activate or deactivate the Autolock Feature by using the Keyless Entry Pad. Vehicles will be delivered to the
dealers with the Autolock Feature deactivated.
ACTION:

Customers taking delivery of vehicles with the Keyless Entry System should be informed on this new feature to eliminate
complaints about inoperative automatic door locks. The description and operation of the autolock system on page 11 of this TSB
should be inserted in the 1988 Shop Manuals under the Keyless Entry System.

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

Autolock Feature

The Autolock Feature of the Keyless Entry System can be activated or deactivated by using the Keyless Entry Key Pad.

1.

To activate Autolock Feature into keyless entry system, enter the five-digit code from your code card.

2.

Within five (5) seconds of entering the code, depress and hold the 7/8 button.

3.

Within the next five (5) seconds, while holding the 7/8 button, depress and release the 3/4 button.

4.

The Autolock Feature is now programmed into the Keyless Entry System.

5.

To deactivate the Autolock Feature, perform Steps 1, 2, and 3.

NOTE:

Every time battery voltage is removed and reconnected to the vehicle, the Autolock Feature will automatically be deactivated. Trying to start
vehicle with a very weak battery can also wipe out the Autolock Feature. To restore Autolock Feature, re-enter original button sequence.
