Surge/miss condition in 2nd/3rd gear on vehicles equipped with MTX transmission can be serviced by revising vacuum signal to carburetor duty cycle
solenoid.
1.
Perform EEC IV Diagnostic QUICK TEST. If system O.K., proceed to Step 2.
2.
Remove sight shield by removing two retaining pins and save.
