Motor terminals may be too small to make necessary test connections. If necessary use jumper wires with suitable connector sleeves between motor
and test equipment.
1.
Disconnect wiper linkage from output arm and electrical connectors from motor.
2.
Connect positive ammeter lead to common terminal on connector and connect negative meter lead to battery positive post, Fig. 5.
3.
Alternately connect negative battery terminal to high and low speed terminals in connector using a jumper wire.
4.
Motor should run in both test positions, and meter should indicate 3.5 amp draw or less.
5.
If current draw exceeds 3.5 amps, check output arm and windlatch assembly. If output arm assembly is satisfactory, repair or replace motor.
