This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to include 1989/90 Continental and 1990/91 Tempo/Topaz vehicles.
ISSUE:
Intermittent fault code "6" (Air Bag Warning on 1990/91 vehicles) or code "32" (High Resistance or Open Circuit on 1992 vehicles) may
appear. These codes may be the result of high resistance in the clockspring air bag circuits. Air bag function is not affected.
ACTION:
Install an air bag sliding contact assembly (clockspring) service kit. Refer to the instruction sheets included in the kits for installation details.
Refer to the parts block for correct parts usage.
Each service kit contains the following items.

(1) Instruction sheet for application of air bag sliding contact assembly electrical connector terminal lubricant

(1) Lubricant (1/4 oz. Tin Metal Squeeze Tube Nye Nyogel 760G)

(1) Special Instruction sheet (where applicable for certain 1990/91 vehicles) for converting earlier 2 circuit to 5 circuit assembly replacements.
