Seat Belt Retractor: Service and Repair
Passive Restraint System (Motorized Seat Belts)

Drive Belt

Removal 

1. Remove track assembly.
2. Remove two screws retaining front A-pillar switch bracket to track assembly.
3. Gently slide shoulder belt retainer forward off track.

NOTE:  Drive belt should slide out of track with shoulder belt retainer.

Upper Anchor Assembly

4. Remove shoulder belt retainer from drive belt.

Installation 

1. Insert drive belt at front of track to A-pillar. Prior to drive belt installation, lubricate track using Emralon 329 (meets Ford specification

ESBM99C71-A) or equivalent (drive belt and guide track).

2. Install retainer into large slot at front end of tape.
3. Slide drive belt in track rearward until end is located approximately 12.7 mm (1/2-inch) in the upper track slot.
4. Install limit switch and retaining screws.
