Valve Body: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Remove battery and battery tray.
2. Remove ignition coil.
3. Remove transaxle oil dipstick.
4. Disconnect all hoses and lines from air management valve, then remove the valve from transaxle valve body cover. Also, disconnect fuel

evaporator hose from frame rail.

5. Disconnect neutral safety switch electrical connector.
6. Disconnect electrical connectors from fan motor and temperature sending unit.
7. Remove valve body cover bolts, valve body cover, and gasket.
8. Remove valve body bolts, valve body, and gasket.

INSTALLATION 

1. Reverse procedure to install.
2. Install guide pins to properly align valve body before tightening attaching bolts. One alignment pin may have to be temporarily removed to allow

attachment of manual valve.

3. Ensure roller on end of throttle valve plunger engages cam on end of throttle lever shaft.

Valve Body Bolt Tightening Sequence

4. Refer to tightening sequence shown in the Valve Body Bolt Tightening Sequence image, and torque valve body bolts to 6-8 ft lbs and valve body

cover bolts to 7-9 ft lbs.
