Shift Cable: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301).
2. Remove the shift console.
3. Disconnect the shift lock actuator electrical connector.

4. Disconnect the park range switch electrical connector.
5. Remove the transmission control selector dial bezel (7D443).

CAUTION:  Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges damage may result.

6. Remove the three powertrain control module (PCM) bolts and the nut.
7. Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors from the PCM.
8. Position the PCM to the side of the powertrain control module bracket (PCM bracket)(12A659).
9. Remove the rear seat heater outlet duct adapter (18C505).
