    The hydraulic valve lash adjusters are located in the rocker arms, Fig. 6.

Remove rocker arm cover.

2.

Alternately and evenly loosen rocker shaft attaching bolts, then carefully lift rocker shaft assemblies from cylinder head.

Remove rocker arms and springs from rocker shaft. Do not remove hydraulic valve lash adjusters from rocker arms unless necessary.

4.

Measure outside diameter of rocker shaft and inside diameter of rocker arm shaft bore. The maximum difference between these two measurements
should not exceed .0039 inch. Also check hydraulic valve lash adjuster for wear and damage and replace as necessary.

5.

Pour engine oil into rocker reservoir.

6.

If removed, apply engine oil to hydraulic valve lash adjuster and install in rocker arm. Use care not damage O-ring when installing.
