Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.

Using a suitable chisel, carefully raise staked portion of wheel bearing adjusting nut.

Remove wheel bearing adjusting nut and discard, Fig. 3. To loosen adjusting nut on left hand side of vehicle, turn nut counterclockwise. To loosen
adjusting nut on right hand side of vehicle, turn nut clockwise.

Remove outer wheel bearing from hub, then remove brake drum and hub assembly.

5.

Remove grease seal, then remove inner bearing from hub.

6.

If necessary, bearing races can be driven from hub using a suitable brass drift.

7.

Reverse procedure to install. Prior to installation, pack wheel bearings and hub cavity with suitable wheel bearing grease. Also apply grease to seal
lip. After installing bearings, adjust wheel bearing preload as described under ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES/WHEEL BEARING.
