Brake Pad: Testing and Inspection
The inboard front brake shoes and linings are equipped with a wear indicator that will make a squealing noise when the front brake shoes and linings are
worn. The noise is a warning to vehicle owners that the brakes need service before any damage occurs to the front disc brake rotors.
Measure Brake Lining
Inspect the front brake shoes and linings for:

Oil or grease on the face

Abnormal wear or cracking
^
Deterioration or damage due to heat
^
Minimum thickness of 2.0mm (0.079 inch) or greater.
