Radiator Hose: Service and Repair
Radiator Hoses (Upper)

REMOVAL

1. Drain the cooling system.

2. Remove the upper radiator hose bracket bolt.

3. Loosen the hose clamp then pull the upper radiator hose off of the radiator. Discard the hose clamp.
4. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the upper radiator hose from the water outlet connection. Discard the hose clamp.
5. Remove the upper radiator hose.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the upper radiator hose and two new hose clamps using flat band hose clamp pliers by squeezing the clamp ears together and installing.

CAUTION:  Ensure the hose clamps are beyond the bead and centered on the sealing surface. Do not reuse hose clamps; use new hose clamps to
ensure proper sealing.

NOTE:  Do not use engine coolant as a lubricant. Coolant will prevent the hose from properly sealing to the fittings.

2. Fill the cooling system.
