Engine Block Heater

REMOVAL

1. Drain the cooling system. 
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the block heater wiring from the block heater.
4. Loosen but do not remove the block heater screw.

CAUTION:  Do not remove the block heater screw.

5. Turn the block heater yoke sideways, and remove the block heater.

INSTALLATION

1. Coat the block heater O-ring and the core plug hole with a Silicone Lubricant COAZ-19553-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification

ESR-M13P4-A.

2. Install the block heater with the element pointing down.
3. Tighten the block heater screw to 1.6-1.8 Nm (14-16 inch lbs.).
4. Connect the block heater wiring to the block heater.

NOTE:  Ensure that adequate clearance is maintained between the block heater wiring, the exhaust manifold, and drive belts. Consider wire
movement when engine rocks upon starting.

5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Fill the cooling system.
