Distributor Cap: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the distributor cover.
3. Mark the distributor cap to ensure the proper distributor to spark plug wire position during installation.

4. Remove the distributor to spark plug wires from the distributor cap.

NOTE: When removing the distributor to spark plug wires from the distributor cap, grasp the spark plug wire boot by hand and remove with a
twisting and pulling motion. Do not pull on the distributor to spark plug wire.

5. Remove the ignition coil to distributor high tension wiring  from the distributor cap.
6. Loosen the three distributor cap screws and remove the distributor cap.

INSTALLATION 

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
