Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect both of the battery cables.
2. Remove the air cleaner to intake manifold tube.
3. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the engine air cleaner upper cover and air cleaner element.
5. Remove the three engine air cleaner lower cover bolts and remove the engine air cleaner.
6. Disconnect the evaporative emission hose connector from the chassis.

7. Remove the bolt from the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister clamp.
8. Disconnect the three vapor hoses from the EVAP canister.

NOTE: Mark the vapor hoses for correct installation.

9. Remove the EVAP canister.

INSTALLATION 

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
