Wheel Speed Sensor: Description and Operation
Front
ABS Component Location
Each front wheel is monitored by a front brake anti-lock sensor. The front brake anti-lock sensors are positioned very close to the front brake anti-lock
sensor indicators. These toothed discs are mounted on each front wheel driveshaft and joint and rotate with the wheels.
The brake anti-lock sensor electrically senses each tooth on the front brake anti-lock sensor indicator as it passes through the brake anti-lock sensor
magnetic field. This data is sent to the anti-lock brake control module. The anti-lock brake control module monitors the frequency created when the
brake anti-lock sensor indicator teeth pass the brake anti-lock sensor to determine wheel rotational speed.
