Hood Latch Release: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Remove the hood latch.
2. If equipped, remove the mud flap.

3. Remove the splash shield.

Remove the screws.

Remove the pin-type retainers.

Remove the splash shield.

4. Release the hood release cable locators in the inner fender opening.
5. Remove the LH scuff plate.
6. Remove the LH A-pillar lower trim panel.

7. Remove the hood release handle and cable assembly.

Remove the bolts.

Remove the hood release handle and cable assembly.

Release the rubber grommet from the cowl side panel.

INSTALLATION

1. Position the hood release handle and cable.

Thread the hood release cable through the cowl panel opening and engage the locators in the inner fender.
