Engine Block Heater: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. 

3. Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.

4. CAUTION: Do not remove the block heater screw.

Remove the block heater.
1. Loosen the screw.
2. Turn the block heater and remove.

Installation

1. CAUTION: Do not use any type of silicone lubricant or sealer on the O-ring.

CAUTION: Make sure the block heater harness is secure and away from exhaust system components.

NOTE:  Make sure that the heater element is pointing down in the installed position.

NOTE:  Lubricate the O-ring with the provided lubricant.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
