SUBJECT
MK3: Start-up Delay At Temperatures Below 37 deg; F

MODEL
R50 (Cooper), R53 (Cooper S) with MK3 NAV computer (option 609)

SITUATION
Board Monitor has delayed start up below 37deg;F. After the vehicle doors are opened, the board monitor starts up after a delay of between 3 to 45
minutes.

The problem does not occur on vehicles with DVD Navigation.

CAUSE
Software error in the NAV computer

CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis only, install NAV SW V21.1, Index k. 

Do not replace the NAV computer.
