SUBJECT
Front Seat Backrest Inoperative
MODEL
R50 MINI Cooper, R53 MINI Cooper S
SITUATION
Front seat backrest will not hold when adjusted to the desired position.
CAUSE
Inboard and outboard backrest latch mechanisms may be out of synchronization.
CORRECTION
From outside the car, move the seat into the full easy entry position by pressing down the outboard lever (1) and sliding the seat into the full forward
position. This easy entry position is the home position for the inboard and outboard backrest mechanisms.
While sitting on the opposite front seat (the one which is not being worked on), push the backrest to a complete reclined position while pulling the
inboard lever (2) upward.
