Coolant: Service and Repair
Replacing

Draining And Adding Coolant  

Warning:  Danger of scalding, work on the cooling system should only be carried out when the engine is cooled down.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of drained coolant.
Observe country specific waste disposal regulations.

Note:  Follow instructions for working on the cooling system.

After topping-up the coolant, vent the cooling system and check for coolant tightness.

Refer to Venting cooling system and checking for leaks.

Drain coolant:
Release pressure cap (1) on fill tower.

Remove underguard. 

Remove bottom hose connection on radiator (1).

Drain, catch and dispose of coolant.
