Drive Belt: Service and Repair
Replacing Alternator Drive Belt

Special Tools Required:

11 8 280

11 8 390

Note:  If the drive belt is to be reused, mark direction of travel and reinstall drive belt in same direction of rotation.

Remove tank venting valve.

Use special tool 11 8 390 release drive belt tension and special tool 11 8 280 to lock drive belt tensioner.

Remove undertray. 

Remove drive belt.

Install hint: Check drive belt for coolant and oil residues, replace if necessary.

Caution:  the drive belt tensioner is under high tension; ensure lock pin is fully located.

It is essential to replace the drive belt, if it comes into contact with hydraulic fluid.
