Poor Performance/Noise from the Air Conditioning System
Complaint
The cooling performance of the air conditioner is inadequate. Loud pulsating and droning noises in the passenger compartment when the air conditioner
is operating.
Vehicles concerned: R50
Production period: R50 from start of series production to July 2002
Cause
Contamination in the air conditioner cooling system. The expansion valve has become clogged by small particles in the high-pressure line (between
condenser and evaporator).
Measure
Replace expansion valve and clean high-pressure line with a compressed-air gun.
