SUBJECT
Crackling Noise Can Be Heard Through the Tweeters

MODEL
R56 with option 6FDA (HiFi Speaker System)
From August 31, 2006 to September 10, 2007

SITUATION
At a high audio volume, a crackling noise can be heard through the tweeters installed in the A-pillar.

CAUSE
Audio output settings in the HiFi amplifier.

CORRECTION
Do not replace parts.

Program the vehicle with the most recent Progman version (target data status R056-07-08-521 or higher).

Refer to SI B09 05 01 - Coding, Individualization and Programming, Procedure B.

Note that Progman will automatically reprogram all programmable control units that do not have the latest software.

Please refer to the latest KSD for all applicable labor operations and allowances.

If the appropriate labor operation is not contained in KSD, then a work time labor operation should be used.
