Starter Motor: Service and Repair

12 41 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Starter Motor (N12, N14)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

-

Switch off ignition

-

Disconnect battery

-

Remove intake filter housing

-

N12: Remove tank venting valve

-

Remove right wheel

NOTE:  For purposes of clarity, the following work steps are shown on the engine after it has been removed.

N14 only:

Release bolts and lay vacuum tank (1) to one side.

Release screw

Tightening torque
1AZ Starter motor to transmission
