Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair
Removing and Installing/Replacing Cable For Front Engine Hood Locks (With Storage
Compartment)

51 23 211 - Removing and installing/replacing cable for front engine hood locks (with storage compartment)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

-

Remove grille for air inlet/heating  on left/right

-

Remove right entrance cover strip See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Scuff Plate/Service and Repair/Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Left or
Right Entrance Cover Strip

-

Disconnect Bowden cable from hood/bonnet lock

W11 engine:
-

Remove intake filter housing

W10 and W17 engines:
-

Remove battery cover

Version with storage compartment:
-

Remove right glovebox

Version with glovebox:
-

Remove right glovebox See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Glove Compartment/Service and Repair/Removing and Installing Right Glovebox

Disconnect Bowden cables (2) from release lever (1).

Installation:

Lay Bowden cables (2) without kinks and correctly through bore (3).
