Timing Chain Tensioner: Service and Repair
Removing And Installing/Replacing Hydraulic Chain Tensioner
Special Tools Required:

Turn off ignition.
Disconnect battery.
Refer to Disconnecting and connecting battery.
Remove inspection cover.
Refer to Removing and installing, sealing cylinder head cover.
Remove right front wheel.
Refer to Removing or installing front or rear wheel.
Remove harness bracket (1) and timing chain tensioner plug (2) and tensioner.
Install hint: Reset timing chain tensioner to the transit position.
Place the tensioner (1) on a flat surface.
Remove tensioner reservoir cap (2).
Place the palm of your hand against the tensioner, with continuous pressure until the tensioner is fully compressed.
Refit tensioner cap (2) after reset.
Install hint: Check/replace sealing ring of tensioner plug.
Install the timing chain tensioner (1) into its housing and tighten.
Seal plug, chain tensioner .................................................................................................................................................................................. 63 Nm
