Camshaft: Service and Repair

Replacing Camshaft 

Special tools required:

Turn ignition off.

Remove spark plugs.

Remove wheel arch cover. 

Remove cylinder head cover. See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair 

Remove left engine mount.

Using special tool 11 8 370 install to cylinder block (1) and engine mount fixing (2).

Disconnect camshaft sensor connector. Remove retaining bolt (1) and camshaft sensor (2).

Install hint:

Lubricate seal with a small film of new engine oil. 

Pulse generator, sensor to cylinder head

M6 ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................   9 Nm

Rotate engine until the camshaft gear triangular timing mark is at 12 o'clock position (1).
