Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Replacing Speed Sensor (Pulse Generator) (COOPER S)

NOTE:  Read out fault memory of EMS2000 control module, check stored fault memory, rectify faults, clear fault memory.

Turn ignition off.
Remove crush tubes.
Slacken modular front end.

Fit special tools 11 8 401 and 11 8 402.

Disconnect connector (1) from crankshaft sensor.
Remove retaining bolt (2) and remove crankshaft sensor (3).
Tightening torque 9 Nm.

NOTE:

Lubricate seal on speed sensor prior to installation.
Read out fault memory of EMS2000 control module, check stored fault memory, rectify faults, clear fault memory.
