SERVICE INFORMATION

Some 200SX vehicles (see Applied Models) equipped with the automatic transmission may exhibit a shock during the 1st - 2nd upshift. Use the
following Parts Information and Service Procedure to install a new servo piston spring to reduce this shift shock on incident vehicles.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Before starting this operation, fabricate a special tool from light sheet metal to the dimensions shown in Figure 1.
Disassembly

1.

Remove transmission oil pan.

2.

Remove the valve body from the transmission.

3.

Position a light to make the servo piston rod and strut visible, then hold the band against the drum by using a screwdriver as a wedge.
