Service Information
When some 200SX models are accelerated from a stop, a vibration is felt in the seat and steering wheel at 8-12 mph. The vibration will increase as the
load in the vehicle is increased, i.e., 4 passengers.
Corrective Action
Check the lateral alignment of the front propeller shaft and the rear of the transmission. Misalignments of only 1/4" could result in a body vibration.
To correct the lateral offset, loosen the rear transmission mount and move the transmission in line with the rear driveshaft. The lateral offset should now
be zero. Tighten transmission bolts to specified torque. (See the Service Manual for torque specifications.)
If the lateral alignment does not correct the incident, use the following procedure:
^
Install shims between the center support bearing and the floor pan. This will lower the support and change the driveline angles.
