Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

    When installing new condenser, it is not necessary to add refrigerant oil when there are no signs of a major oil leak, except on the Sentra.
When installing new condenser on Sentra that shows no sign of oil leak, add .3 oz. of new refrigerant oil. On all models that show signs of major
oil leak, except 200SX, 300ZX or Sentra, add 1.7 oz. of new refrigerant oil. On Sentra and 300ZX that show signs of major oil leak, add 2 oz. of
new refrigerant oil.

Disconnect battery ground cable and discharge A/C system.

2.

Remove screws securing radiator grille, then remove grille.

3.

Remove bolts securing center radiator support brace.

4.

ON B210 models, remove bolts securing refrigerant line clamps, then remove line from in front of condenser.

5.

Disconnect refrigerant lines to condenser and plug lines and open fittings.

6.

Remove condenser mounting bolts and remove condenser through grille opening.

7.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. If condenser is replaced or flushed, add 1 oz. of new refrigerant oil to system.
b. Evacuate and recharge system, then check for leaks.
