SERVICE INFORMATION:
Complaints of an oil leak in the area of the oil filter can often be traced to a perforation of the oil
pressure switch diaphragm. This may be caused by oil sludge/sediments collecting at the switch. The
following information details the installation of an oil pressure switch adapter piece to isolate the
switch.

REPAIR INFORMATION:
1.
Stop the engine; wait for approximately 5 minutes in order to drain oil from the oil filter bracket.
2.
Remove oil filter and discard. Disconnect oil pressure switch electrical harness.
3.
Using a 27 mm deep socket, remove the oil pressure switch from the oil filter bracket (Figure 1).
NOTE:
If the switch shows signs of internal leakage, replace it.
4.
Using brake cleaner, clean the threads on the oil pressure switch and the receiving hole of the oil filter bracket.

Obtain an oil pressure switch adapter piece, P/N 25071-VO700, from your parts department.
6.
Apply Loctite "PST Pipe Sealant", P/N 567, or equivalent, to the threads on the male end of the oil pressure switch adapter piece. Install it onto
