Ambient Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Testing and Inspection

1.

Disconnect wiring harness connector to switch and sensor located behind front bumper.

2.

Connect ohmmeter between switch terminals on component connector (switch terminals located on notched side of connector).

3.

Above 43 deg. F, meter should read 0 ohms; below 25 deg. F, meter should read infinite resistance. Between 25 deg. F and 43 deg. F, meter will
read either 0 ohms or infinite resistance.

4.

Connect ohmmeter between sensor terminals on component connector (sensor terminals located opposite notched side of connector).

5.

Meter should read within range indicated, Fig. 85.
