Cold Start Injector: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove two screws securing cold start valve to intake manifold and remove valve leaving harness connector and fuel line connected.
3. Place cold start valve into transparent glass container and plug the container opening with a clean rag.
4. Disconnect wiring harness connector at oil pressure switch or alternator "L" terminal and reconnect battery ground cable
5. Turn ignition switch to ON position and make sure fuel pump is operating. Cold start valve should not leak fuel.
6. Disconnect wiring harness connector from cold start valve and connect a jumper wire to each terminal on valve.
7.  Briefly touch other ends of jumper wires to the battery terminals. Cold start valve should inject fuel into container.
8. If cold start valve fails under any of the above conditions, the valve is defective.
