Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair

On Maxima Models, relieve fuel system pressure as follows:
a. Remove fuel pump fuse from fuse panel.
b. Start and run engine until it stalls.
c. Try to start engine two or three more times to ensure that fuel pressure is released.
d. Turn ignition switch off and install fuel pump fuse.

On 300ZX models, relieve fuel system pressure as follows:
a. Disconnect fuel pump relay, which is located behind the lefthand side kick panel.
b. Start and run engine until it stalls.
c. Try to start engine two or three more times to ensure that fuel pressure is released.
d. Turn ignition switch off and reconnect fuel pump relay.
