Remove the two attachment screws on the side of the headlight switch (Figure 3).

4.

Remove the headlight switch.

5.

Check the lot number on the headlight switch (not the combination base) to determine if switch is to be replaced.

6.

If the headlight switch lot number is before 3907A, install a new headlight switch (P/N 25540-17M20).

7.

Reinstall components by reversing procedure.

8.

Check for proper operation of switch.

Service Procedure B - 300ZX

1.

Remove the steering wheel

Do not strike end of steering column shaft with a hammer. Striking shaft will damage needle bearing or column shaft.

Be careful not to damage cancel pole.

After installing, turn wheel to make sure it moves smoothly and that the number of turns from straight forward position to left and right
locks are equal.

If steering wheel play is not within the specified value, check column shaft and tie-rod ball joint and adjust the play with retainer adjust
screw. Refer to "Steering wheel play adjustment".
