A new part (Rack and inner tube assembly) is now available. This part can be used to replace a rack whose sealing surface has been damaged by score
marks, scratches, or corrosion. This assembly includes a new inner tube with rack seal already installed on the rack. There are two different part numbers
for the Rack and Inner Tube Assembly: one is for 1984-85 models, the other is for 1986 models.

The rebuild procedure and parts described provide a tested and proven repair of leaking power steering gears and should eliminate the need to replace
the steering gear.

For your convenience, an exploded view of the steering gear assembly is provided on next page. It contains the proper part names and tightening torques.
