BACK-UP VALVE RETAINING PLATE 1982-1983 STANZA, SENTRA, 310's

The engine speed may increase during upshifting while the transmission is in Drive on a Stanza, Sentra, or 310, equipped with automatic transmission.
To correct this condition, follow the troubleshooting chart in the service manual.

After the transmission oil pan is removed, examine the back-up valve retaining plate (See Figure 1) and if it is broken, replace it with the new part listed
in the Parts Information section.
