2002-2003 Altima (L31) - with Automatic Transmission
SERVICE INFORMATION
If an applied vehicle shows all of the following symptom:

Engine does not crank when the gear shift selector lever is in Park (P) position,
^
Engine does crank when the gear shift selector lever is in Neutral (N),
^
Incident usually happens if the engine is at normal driving temperature rather than cold,
Refer to the Service Procedure below.
NOTE:
It is IMPORTANT that both parts of the Service Procedure be followed and completed fully.
SERVICE PROCEDURE SUMMARY
The Service Procedure has two steps:
Part A - Check the Park/Neutral Switch Adjustment, adjust if necessary.
Part B - Adjust the Automatic Transmission Control Cable, at the Slotted Transmission Control Arm. Remove any play or "slack" in the cable.
SERVICE PROCEDURE

Verity the incident.
