Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENT INSPECTION 

1. Start engine.

2. Check voltage between camshaft position sensor terminals (3), (4) and ground with AC range.

If NG, replace distributor assembly with camshaft position sensor.

3. Remove camshaft position sensor cap and visually check signal plate for damage or dust.

After this inspection, diagnostic trouble code P0340 might be displayed with camshaft position sensor functioning properly. Erase the
stored memory.
