SERVICE PROCEDURE:

Step 1 - Verify type of noise

Determine if the noise is a rattle or a creaking noise:

a.

Open front door.

b.

Lower the sliding door window.

c.

Grab the door sash at the upper B-pillar with both hands and shake.

If the procedure shown above produces a rattling noise then proceed to Step 2. If no rattling noise is heard, but further road testing still reveals a noise
(creaking), proceed to Step 3.

Step 2 - Sliding Door Rattles

Adjust the upper female dovetail as follows:

a.

Loosen the mounting screw (Figure 4) for the female dovetail (upper wedge) slightly, so it can be moved using light finger pressure.

b.

Close the sliding door with normal effort and reopen.

c.

Tighten the dovetail mounting screw.

d.

Check for rattle. If rattle is heard, continue.

2.

Adjust the dovetail by sliding it outward approximately 2 mm from its position and retighten the screw. Check for rattling noise. If the noise
is still heard, continue.
