Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Description and Operation
Check Engine Lamp
The check engine lamp, located on the left side of the instrument cluster, is used primarily to inform the driver of a malfunction in the following
circuits or functions:
^Air flow meter
^Engine temperature sensor
^Vehicle speed sensor
^ECU calculation function
^EGR function
^O2 sensor
^EGR temperature sensor
^Throttle sensor
^Fuel injector leak
^Malfunctions related to emission system performance
Malfunctions that affect the emission system performance can be detected by performing MODE 3 (STORED CODES) TEST.
It will also flash simultaneously with the red diode on the ECU when extracting codes or when inspecting feedback operation.
