Seals and Gaskets: Service and Repair

1.

Remove left driveshaft as follows:
a. Raise and support vehicle.
b. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
c. Remove wheel bearing locknut while depressing brake pedal.
d. Remove brake caliper assembly.
e. Remove tie rod ball joint and lower ball joint nuts.
f.

Loosen strut securing nuts.

g. Remove lower ball joint nuts, then withdraw driveshaft from transaxle.

Remove seal.

3.

Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate new seal with transmission fluid.
