FAST IDLE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
APPLIED VEHICLE(S):
1990 Truck (D21) with KA24E engine
SERVICE INFORMATION
Please use the following procedure for fast idle adjustment on 1990 Truck with KA24E engine.
1.
Start engine and warm it up until water temperature indicator points to the normal operating temperature.
2.
Stop engine and remove air cleaner assembly.
3.
Make sure that the follower lever roller faces the top of the F.I.C. (Fast Idle Cam) profile as shown in the figure.

If necessary, adjust the adjusting screw (A) until the top of the cam faces the center of the lever roller.
4.
Measure clearance (G) between the roller and the top of the F.I.C. using a feeler gauge. (See figure.)
Clearance (G): M/T model
2.0 - 2.6 mm (0.079 - 0.102 in)
A/T model
1.8 - 2.4 mm (0.071 - 0.094 in)
