Torsion Bar: Adjustments

1.

Confirm the following:

a. All fluids are full.
b. Jack, spare and tools are present.
c. Any other load is removed from the vehicle.
d. Adjust the tire pressure as specified on the vehicle placard.

Place the vehicle on a flat, level surface.

3.

Bounce the front of the vehicle 4 or 5 times to allow the suspension to settle.

Measuring Ride Height

4.

Measure the distance between the ground and the center of the lower control arm pivot bolt. (Dimension A).

5.

Measure the distance from the ground to the bottom face of the rear tension rod securing bolt. (Dimension B).

6.

Repeat procedure on both sides.

A - B = H (height)

a. If the dimension is low, tighten the the adjustment bolt as shown in Fig. 2.
b. If the dimension is high, loosen the the adjustment bolt as shown in Fig. 2.

Refer to SPECIFICATIONS for the correct dimension.
