2.
After adjusting accelerator wire, adjust the A.S.C.D. wire as follows:
A.
Turn the adjusting nut 1/2 to 1 turn towards the covered cable wire. This must be performed properly to prevent response delay in A.S.C.D.
operation.
B.
Securely tighten the lock nut to 5.8 - 7.2 ft.lb.; (0.8 - 1.0 kg-m) to hold the adjusting nut in place.
CAUTIONS:
^
Make sure not to twist the A.S.C.D. wire when removing it.
^
Do not tighten the A.S.C.D. wire excessively during adjustment. To prevent over tightening, measure the idle speed before and after
adjustment and then compare. If the A.S.C.D. wire is too tight, the idle speed will increase.
3.
If the A.S.C.D. wire adjustment was ineffective or the vehicle accelerates too slowly to the set point, replace the A.S.C.D. control unit with a
countermeasure unit (P/N 18930-09G00). Please note that the control unit part number has not changed. However, countermeasure units are
identified by a red part label while non-countermeasure units have a yellow part label.
